How Chefs Get Paid on Chefry: Bank vs Debit Card
Getting paid should be the easiest part of selling food. Here is exactly what happens to your money on Chefry, from the moment a customer checks out to the moment it lands in your account, including why one payout method takes days and the other takes minutes.
Payouts are automatic
Customers pay up front when they order. Once the order completes, your earnings release automatically. You do not need to invoice anyone, request anything, or remember to cash out. Your payout dashboard shows what is pending and what has been paid, including any sign-up bonus you have earned.
Option 1: bank account (free, 1 to 2 business days)
Connect your bank account and payouts arrive in 1 to 2 business days at no cost. The delay is not us holding your money. Bank transfers move over the ACH network, the same system behind direct deposit, and banks process ACH in batches on business days only. A payout released on Friday evening starts moving Monday morning. That is how ACH works everywhere, on every platform.
One heads up: the very first payout on a brand new payout account can take a few extra days while the payment processor verifies the account. That happens once, then the normal 1 to 2 day rhythm kicks in.
Option 2: debit card (instant, about 30 minutes)
Add a debit card in your payout settings and you unlock instant payouts. Instead of the ACH network, the money moves over the card networks, which run all day, every day, weekends and holidays included. The payout typically lands in about 30 minutes. Instant payouts carry a small processing fee of 1.5% (minimum 50 cents), which is the card network's charge for the speed, not ours.
Which one should you pick?
- Steady weekly sellers: the free bank transfer is usually the right call. The rhythm is predictable and you keep every cent.
- Need cash for ingredients today: the debit card option turns this morning's pre-orders into this afternoon's grocery run.
- Best of both: connect both. Bank stays your default, and instant is there when you want it.
It covers everything you earn
Menu pre-orders, service bookings, deposits, tips, and bonuses all flow through the same payout account. Set it up once and every kind of earning follows the same rules above.
Get paid before you shop.
